Relieving oneself: The reason the Prophet removed his ring when entering the toilet
Hadith 1414
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَوْنٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ التِّرْمِذِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأَنْصَارِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ نَقْشُ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلاثَةَ أَسْطُرٍ : مُحَمَّدٌ سَطْرٌ ، وَرَسُولُ سَطْرٌ ، وَاللَّهِ سَطْرٌ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The ring of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had an inscription which was in three lines: the word "Muhammad" in one line, the word "Rasool" in one line, and the word "Allah" in one line.
