Purifying impurity: Clarifying that widespread impurity on the ground is purified by abundant water removing its traces
Hadith 1400
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا بَالَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَثَارَ إِلَيْهِ أُنَاسٌ لِيَقَعُوا بِهِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " دَعُوهُ وَأَهْرِيقُوا عَلَى بَوْلِهِ دَلْوًا مِنْ مَاءٍ ، أَوْ سَجْلا مِنْ مَاءٍ ، فَإِنَّمَا بُعِثْتُمْ مُيَسِّرِينَ ، وَلَمْ تُبْعَثُوا مُعَسِّرِينَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A Bedouin started urinating in the mosque. The people rushed towards him to beat him, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Let him be. Pour a bucket of water over his urine (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words) pour a bucket (sajal) of water over it. You have been sent to make things easy for people, not to make things difficult for them.
