Hadith 1382
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I used to wash semen (i.e., janabah) from the clothes of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and he would go for prayer while the mark of water would still be visible on his clothes. (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to wash semen from the clothes of the Prophet (peace be upon him) when it was wet, because in this case a person feels more cleanliness, and when it was dry, Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to scrape it off, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) would perform prayer in those clothes. We also give fatwa according to this, and we adopt this opinion that when semen is wet, it should be washed for the satisfaction of the mind, not because it is impure, and when semen is dry, it is sufficient to scrape it off in accordance with the Sunnah.
