Hadith 1365
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ مَوْلَى عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ نُدْبَةَ ، مَوْلاةِ مَيْمُونَةَ ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَان " يُبَاشِرُ الْمَرْأَةَ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ ، إِذَا كَانَ عَلَيْهَا إِزَارٌ يَبْلُغُ أَنْصَافَ الْفَخِذَيْنِ ، أَوِ الرُّكْبَتَيْنِ فَتَحْتَجِزُ بِهِ " .
The noble wife of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would have intimacy with one of his wives while she was in the state of menstruation, and that woman would have tied a waist-wrapper. It would reach halfway down the thighs (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words) or up to the knees, and the woman would tie it as a loincloth.
