Hadith 1353
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Umm Habibah bint Jahsh suffered from istihada (non-menstrual bleeding). She was the wife of Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Auf (may Allah be pleased with him). Her sister, Lady Zainab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her), who was the honorable wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), this woman suffered from istihada for seven years. She complained about this to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This is not menstruation, it is the discharge of another vein. You should perform ghusl and continue to offer prayers. So that woman used to perform ghusl for every prayer. She would sit in her sister's tub, and the redness of the blood would dominate the water.
