Wiping over leather socks and similar: Clarifying that three days for travelers includes nights, and a day for residents includes its night
Hadith 1333
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفِيانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجَدَلِيِّ ، عَنْ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْمَسْحِ ، فَقَالَ : " لِلَمْسَافِرِ ثَلاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ ، وَلِلَمْقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ " .
Sayyiduna Khuzaimah bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A Bedouin asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about wiping (over socks), so he said: For a traveler, three days and three nights, and for a resident, one day and one night.
