Wiping over leather socks and similar: Permitting travelers to wipe for three days and nights
Hadith 1332
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجَدَلِيِّ ، عَنْ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، قَالَ : " رَخَّصَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَمْسَحَ ثَلاثًا ، وَلَوِ اسْتَزَدْنَاهُ لَزَادَنَا " .
Sayyiduna Khuzaimah bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted permission. (While traveling) we could wipe (over the socks) for three days. If we had requested more (concession), he would have granted us more.
