Hadith 1327
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفِيانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلَمْ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي غَنِيَّةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْحَكَمَ بْنَ عُتَيْبَةَ ، يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُخَيْمِرَةَ ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ عَنِ الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفِينِ ، فَقَالَ : " رَخَّصَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفِينِ فِي الْحَضَرِ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً ، وَلِلَمْسَافِرِ ثَلاثَةً أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ " .
Shurayh bin Hani narrates: I asked Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) about wiping over the leather socks (khuffs). He replied: Allah's Messenger granted us permission to wipe over the leather socks for one day and one night in the state of residence, and for three days and three nights for the traveler.
