Hadith 1324
أَخْبَرَنَا الْخَلِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ ابْنُ بِنْتِ تَمِيمِ بْنِ الِمَنْتَصِرِ بِوَاسِطَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِي ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُهَاجِرُ أَبُو مَخْلَدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّهُ رَخَّصَ لِلَمْسَافِرِ ثَلاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ ، وَلِلَمْقِيمِ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً ، إِذَا تَطَهَّرَ وَلَبِسَ خُفِيهِ ، فَلْيَمْسَحْ عَلَيْهِمَا " .
Abdur Rahman bin Abu Bakrah narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: A traveler is permitted to wipe over his socks for three days and three nights, and a resident for one day and one night. When a person puts on his socks after performing ablution, he may wipe over them.
