Chapter on Leftover Water – Report refuting the claim that a menstruating woman’s leftover water is impure
Hadith 1293
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ ، وَسُفِيانَ ، عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كُنْتُ أَضَعُ الإِنَاءَ عَلَى فِي وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ ، ثُمَّ أُنَاوِلُهُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيضَعُ فَاهُ عَلَى مَوْضِعِ فِي ، وَآخُذُ الْعَرْقَ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ ، ثُمَّ أُنَاوِلُهُ فِيضَعُ فَاهُ عَلَى مَوْضِعِ فِي " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: While I was in the state of menstruation, I would place a vessel to my mouth, then I would pass it to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and he would place his blessed mouth at the same spot where I had placed my mouth. While I was in the state of menstruation, I would take a bone (with meat on it), eat from it, then pass it to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and he would place his mouth at the same spot where I had placed my mouth.
