Chapter on Used Water – Permission to seek blessing from the ablution water of righteous scholars who follow the Sunnah, not innovators
Hadith 1268
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّه صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي قُبَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ ، وَرَأَيْتُ بِلالا أَخْرَجَ وَضُوءَهُ ، فَرَأَيْتُ النَّاسَ يَبْتَدِرُونَ وَضُوءَهُ يَتَمَسَّحُونَ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ أَخْرَجَ بِلالٌ عَنْزَةً فَرَكَزَهَا ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حُلَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ سِيَرَاءَ ، فَصَلَّى إِلَيْهَا وَالنَّاسُ وَالدَّوَابُّ يَمُرُّونَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ " .
Awn bin Abu Hujayfah narrates from his father: I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in a red tent. I saw Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) come out carrying the leftover water from the Prophet’s ablution. I saw people rushing towards the leftover water of ablution and they began to rub it on their bodies. Then Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came out carrying a spear. He fixed it in the ground. Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came out wearing a red Yemeni cloak. He faced towards the spear and performed prayer, while people and animals were passing on the other side of it.
