Chapter on Ablution with Water Left Over by a Woman – Report that the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not object to someone doing this discouraged act in the narration of al-Hakam ibn Amr
Hadith 1263
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفِيانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ " أَنَّهُ أَبْصَرَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابَهُ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ ، الرِّجَالُ وَالنِّسَاءُ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ ، كُلُّهُمْ يَتَطَهَّرُ مِنْهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: He saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions, that they, meaning a man and a woman (i.e., husband and wife), would perform ablution from the same vessel. All of them would attain purification from it.
