Chapter on Water – Report that may mislead the unskilled in hadith science into thinking bathing from major impurity in stagnant water makes it impure
Hadith 1257
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لا يَبُولُ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الْمَاءِ الدَّائِمِ ، وَلا يَغْتَسِلُ فِيهِ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "No person should ever urinate in standing water, nor should he perform ghusl for janabah in it."
