Chapter on Rules for the Junub – Permission for a person in a state of major impurity to sleep after washing the private part and performing ablution for prayer
Hadith 1214
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّامِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْمَقَابِرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ : ذَكَرَ عُمَرُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ تُصِيبُهُ الْجَنَابَةُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، " فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ وَيَغْسِلَ ذَكَرَهُ ، ثُمَّ يَنَامَ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) mentioned before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he becomes in a state of janabah during the night, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed him to perform wudu, wash his private parts, and then go to sleep.
