Chapter on Rules for the Junub – The reason for this command
Hadith 1211
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ السِّنْجِيُّ ، بِمَرْوَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلَمْ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الأَحْوَلِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُتَوَكِّلِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمْ أَهْلَهُ ، ثُمَّ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَعُودَ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ ، فَإِنَّهُ أَنْشَطُ لِلْعَوْدِ " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : تَفَرَّدَ بِهَذَهِ اللَّفْظَةِ الأَخِيرَةِ مُسْلَمْ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "When a man has intercourse with his wife and then wishes to do it again, he should perform ablution first. In this way, there will be more pleasure in doing it again." Imam Ibn Hibban (may Allah have mercy on him) says: In narrating these last words, the narrator named Muslim bin Ibrahim is unique.
