Chapter on Nullifiers of Ablution – Permission to wipe the hand with something available from grease instead of washing hands before prayer
Hadith 1162
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ الْبَزَّارُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " أَكَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَتِفًا ، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ يَدَهُ بِمِسْحٍ كَانَ تَحْتَهُ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) ate the meat of the shoulder, then he wiped his hand on the bedding that was beneath him, then he stood up and performed prayer.
