Chapter on Nullifiers of Ablution – Clarification that omitting ablution after eating sheep shoulder was after the command to perform ablution from food touched by fire
Hadith 1151
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ الضَّبِّيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، " أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ مِنْ ثَوْرِ أَقِطٍ ثُمَّ رَآهُ أَكَلَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) perform ablution after eating pieces of cheese. Then he saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) eat the meat of a goat's shoulder and perform prayer without renewing his ablution.
