Chapter on Nullifiers of Ablution – Clarification that the Prophet’s statement “perform ablution from what is touched by fire” refers to what is cooked by fire
Hadith 1148
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ ، عَنِ الأَغَرِّ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " تَوَضَّأْ مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Perform ablution after eating something cooked on fire."
