Qais bin Talq narrates from his father: We participated in the construction of Masjid Nabawi with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He used to say, "Bring the Yamami forward from the clay, for in terms of workmanship, he is the best among all." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narration transmitted by Sayyiduna Talq bin Ali, which we have mentioned, is an abrogated hadith. Sayyiduna Talq bin Ali came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the first year of Hijrah, when the Muslims were constructing Masjid Nabawi in Madinah Munawwarah. Whereas Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated the hadith regarding the obligation of ablution upon touching the private part. As we have mentioned earlier, Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) accepted Islam in the 7th year of Hijrah. This indicates that the narration transmitted by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) is seven years later than the narration transmitted by Sayyiduna Talq bin Ali.
