Chapter on Nullifiers of Ablution – Report that may have misled a scholar into thinking it contradicts or opposes Busrah’s narration
Hadith 1119
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ نَصْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مُلازِمُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَدْرٍ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ طَلْقٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : خَرَجْنَا وَفْدًا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ ، فَقَالَ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، مَا تَقُولُ فِي مَسِّ الرَّجُلِ ذَكَرَهُ بَعْدَمَا يَتَوَضَّأُ ؟ فَقَالَ : " هَلْ هُوَ إِلا مُضْغَةٌ أَوْ بَضْعَةٌ مِنْهُ " .
Qais bin Talq narrates from his father: We came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a delegation. A man came and asked: O Messenger of Allah! What do you say about a person who touches his private part after performing ablution? The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: It (the private part) is a piece of flesh from his body (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words) a piece.
