Chapter on Nullifiers of Ablution – Clarification that the ruling applies equally to men and women
Hadith 1117
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ ذَكْوَانَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ نَمِرٍ الْيَحْصَبِيُّ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ بُسْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا مَسَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فَرْجَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ ، وَالْمَرْأَةُ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ " .
Sayyidah Busrah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When a person touches his private part, he should perform ablution, and a woman should do the same."
