Chapter on the Nullifiers of Ablution - Obligation of ablution for pre-seminal fluid and full bath for semen
Hadith 1104
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْعِجْلِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ رَجُلا مَذَّاءً ، فَسَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِذَا رَأَيْتَ الْمَاءَ ، فَاغْسِلْ ذَكَرَكَ وَتَوَضَّأْ ، وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ الْمَنِيَّ ، فَاغْتَسِلْ " .
Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was a person from whom madhi (pre-seminal fluid) would be discharged in abundance. I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about it, and he said: When you see the fluid (madhi), wash your private part and perform wudu, and when you see semen, then perform ghusl.
