Chapter on the Sunnahs of Ablution - Recommendation to use the right side in all matters
Hadith 1091
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ، وَعُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَشْعَثُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ : " أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُحِبُّ التَّيَامُنَ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ : فِي طُهُورِهِ ، وَتَنَعُّلِهِ ، وَتَرَجُّلِهِ " . قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : ثُمَّ سَمِعْتُ الأَشْعَثَ بِوَاسِطَ ، يَقُولُ : يُحِبُّ التَّيَامُنَ ، وَذَكَرَ شَأْنَهُ كُلَّهُ ، ثُمَّ ، قَالَ : شَهِدْتُهُ بِالْكُوفَةِ يَقُولُ : يُحِبُّ التَّيَامُنَ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) liked to begin from the right side as much as possible while performing ablution, wearing shoes, and combing his hair. The narrator named Shu’bah says: I heard the narrator named Ash’ath narrate this in Wasit. "(The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him) liked the right side," then he mentioned all matters, then he stated that I heard him say this in Kufa: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) liked to begin from the right side as much as possible.
