Chapter on the Sunnahs of Ablution - Command to wash between the fingers during ablution
Hadith 1087
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ لَقِيطِ بْنِ صَبِرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبِرْنِي عَنِ الْوُضُوءِ ، قَالَ : " أَسْبِغِ الْوُضُوءَ ، وَخَلِّلْ بَيْنَ الأَصَابِعِ ، وَبَالِغْ فِي الاسْتِنْشَاقِ إِلا أَنْ تَكُونَ صَائِمًا " .
Asim bin Laqit bin Sabirah narrates from his father: I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace be upon him), please tell me about ablution (wudu)." So the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Perform ablution well. Clean between the fingers and put water into the nose thoroughly, unless you are fasting (then the ruling is different)."
