Chapter on the Sunnahs of Ablution - The Prophet’s use of the toothstick when standing to converse with Allah
Hadith 1072
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، وَحُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يَشُوصُ فَاهُ بِالسِّوَاكِ " .
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would wake up at night (to perform voluntary prayers), he would clean his mouth with a miswak.
