Humran narrates: I saw Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) that he called for water for ablution. He poured water from the vessel onto both his hands and washed them three times, then put his right hand into the water for ablution, rinsed his mouth, and put water into his nose, then cleaned his nose. Then he washed his face three times and washed both his arms up to the elbows three times. Then he wiped his head, then washed each foot three times. Then he stated: I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performing ablution like this ablution of mine. Then he said: "Whoever performs ablution like this of mine, then stands and offers two units of prayer in which he does not become distracted by his thoughts, then his past sins are forgiven."
