Chapter of Seeking Refuge - Recommendation to seek refuge in Allah from the evil of one’s life and death
Hadith 1018
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَعَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ : " يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْ شَرِّ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ ، وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ ، وَشَرِّ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this about the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. He, peace be upon him, used to seek refuge from the evil of life and death, the torment of the grave, and the evil of the Dajjal.
