Chapter of Seeking Refuge - Recommendation to seek refuge in Allah from laziness in worship and old age that prevents it
Hadith 1009
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ ، وَالْهَرَمِ وَالْبُخْلِ ، وَالْجُبْنِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ ، وَشَرِّ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: "O Allah! I seek refuge in You from incapacity, laziness, old age, miserliness, cowardice, the torment of the grave, and the evil of the Dajjal."
