Chapter of Seeking Refuge - What to say when the wind becomes strong
Hadith 1008
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَلَمَةَ بْنَ الأَكْوَعِ ، يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ إِذَا اشْتَدَّتِ الرِّيحُ ، يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ لَقْحًا لا عَقِيمًا " .
Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) reports as a marfu’ hadith to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): When a strong wind would blow, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say (i.e., he would supplicate): “O Allah! Let it be heavy (with rain or clouds), not barren.”
