Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) because I wanted to seek your help in the payment of a debt, the debt that was due upon my father. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I will come to your place. I said to my wife: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) will come to our place, so try to avoid talking to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or causing him any discomfort. Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came, and I slaughtered a goat that was present in my house for him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Jabir! It seems you know that I like meat very much. Then, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was about to leave, the wife of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! Please supplicate for mercy for me and my husband. (The narrator states) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did so. Then Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said to that woman: Did I not tell you not to say anything (to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him)? The woman replied: Should the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) come to our place and then leave without supplicating for mercy for us?
