Hadith 963
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite this supplication in the morning: “We have entered the morning and so has the dominion of Allah. All praise is exclusively for Allah. (O Allah!) I ask You for the goodness of this day, the goodness within it, and the goodness that comes after it, and I seek refuge in You from laziness, old age, an evil age, the trial of Dajjal, and the punishment of the grave.” (The narrator states:) When evening would come, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would recite similar words. Hasan bin Ubaidullah has narrated this from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) with his chain of narration. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would also recite in this supplication: “There is no deity except Allah, He is the One and Only, He has no partner. Sovereignty belongs exclusively to Him, all praise is exclusively for Him, and He has power over everything.”
