Abu Hurairah Sa'di narrates: I asked Sayyiduna Imam Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both): What do you remember regarding the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)? He replied: I remember this, that once I took a date from the dates of charity and put it in my mouth. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) took that date out of my mouth along with the saliva and put it back among the dates. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to teach us this supplication: "O Allah! Grant me guidance among those whom You have guided, and grant me well-being among those whom You have granted well-being, and become my guardian among those whom You have taken as guardians. Bless for me what You have given, and protect me from the evil of what You have decreed. Surely, You decree and none can decree against You. The one whom You protect is never humiliated." The narrator named Shu'bah says: I think these words are also in the narration: "You are Blessed and Exalted."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Abu al-Jawza' is Rabi'ah bin Shayban Sa'di, and Abu al-Jawza's name is Aws bin Abdullah, and both of these gentlemen are Tabi'in and both are residents of Basra.
