Hadith 937
أَخْبَرَنَا
أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ بِحَرَّانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا
شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ
ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ
أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْعُو بِهَذَا الدُّعَاءِ " اللَّهُمَّ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً ، وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً ، وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ " . قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : فَذَكَرْتُهُ لِقَتَادَةَ ، فَقَالَ : كَانَ أَنَسٌ يَدْعُو بِهِ .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: "O Allah! Grant us goodness in this world and goodness in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of Hell." The narrator named Shu’bah states: I mentioned this narration before Qatadah, so he said: Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) also used to supplicate with this prayer.
