Chapter on Supplications – On negating miserliness from those who send prayers upon the Prophet
Hadith 909
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُصْعَبٍ بِسَنْجَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ الْقَطَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلالٍ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ غَزِيَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ الْبَخِيلَ مَنْ ذُكِرْتُ عِنْدَهُ ، فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيَّ " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : هَذَا أَشْبَهُ شَيْءٍ رُوِيَ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، وَكَانَ الْحُسَيْنُ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ حَيْثُ قُبِضَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ابْنَ سَبْعِ سِنِينَ إِلا شَهْرًا ، وَذَلِكَ أَنَّهُ وُلِدَ لِلَيَالٍ خَلَوْنَ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ سَنَةَ أَرْبَعٍ ، وَابْنُ سِتِّ سِنِينَ وَأَشْهُرٍ إِذَا كَانَتْ لُغَتُهُ الْعَرَبِيَّةَ يَحْفَظُ الشَّيْءَ بَعْدَ الشَّيْءِ .
Sayyiduna Imam Zain al-Abidin (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Imam Husayn, may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the miser is the one in whose presence my mention is made and he does not send blessings upon me."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) This is the most authentic narration transmitted from Sayyiduna Imam Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him). Because at the time when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, Sayyiduna Imam Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) was one month short of seven years old. That is, he was born in the month of Sha'ban in the 4th year of Hijrah, and when he was six years and a few months old, he was memorizing many things in Arabic one after another.
