Chapter on Remembrance – On the Prophet’s analogy of a place where Allah is remembered and a place where He is not
Hadith 854
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ بُرَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَثَلُ الْبَيْتِ الَّذِي يُذْكَرُ اللَّهُ فِيهِ ، وَالْبَيْتِ الَّذِي لا يُذْكَرُ اللَّهُ فِيهِ مَثَلُ الْحَيِّ وَالْمَيِّتِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: "The example of the house in which Allah is remembered and the house in which Allah is not remembered is like the example of the living and the dead."
