Chapter on Remembrance – On the recommendation to remember Allah in all situations to avoid regret on the Day of Judgment
Hadith 853
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا جَلَسَ قَوْمٌ مَجْلِسًا لَمْ يَذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ فِيهِ إِلا كَانَ عَلَيْهِمْ تِرَةً ، وَمَا مَشَى أَحَدٌ مَمْشًى لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللَّهَ فِيهِ إِلا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ تِرَةً ، وَمَا أَوَى أَحَدٌ إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللَّهَ فِيهِ إِلا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ تِرَةً " .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whenever a person sits in a gathering and does not remember Allah, it will be a cause of regret for them. When a person walks on a path and does not remember Allah in it, it will be a cause of regret for them. And when a person goes to his bed and does not remember Allah, this too will be a cause of regret for him."
