Chapter on Remembrance – On the glorification by which Allah grants the reward equal to the weight of the heavens
Hadith 832
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَى آلِ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ إِلَى صَلاةِ الصُّبْحِ ، وَجُوَيْرِيَةُ جَالِسَةٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَرَجَعَ حِينَ تَعَالَى النَّهَارُ ، فَقَالَ : " لَنْ تَزَالِي جَالِسَةً بَعْدِي ؟ " ، قَالَتْ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " لَقَدْ قُلْتُ أَرْبَعَ كَلِمَاتٍ لَوْ وُزِنَتْ بِهِنَّ لَوَزَنَتْهُنَّ : سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ ، وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ ، وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ ، وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : جُوَيْرِيَةُ هِيَ بِنْتُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ عَمِّ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) went out for the morning prayer. At that time, Lady Juwayriya (may Allah be pleased with her) was sitting on her prayer mat. After the day had advanced and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned, he asked: Have you remained sitting here as you were after I left? She replied: Yes! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have recited four words. If they were weighed against what you have recited, these words would outweigh them. (They are:) "I declare the purity of Allah and with His praise, as many times as the number of His creation, in accordance with His pleasure, to the weight of His Throne, and to the ink of His words."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Juwayriya (the lady mentioned) is the daughter of Harith bin Abdul Muttalib, who was the uncle of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
