Hadith 799
Sayyiduna Ali narrates that nothing would prevent the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from reciting the Qur'an except the state of major ritual impurity (janabah). (That is, he would not recite the Qur'an while in the state of janabah.)
Hadith 800
Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Nothing would prevent the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from reciting the Qur'an, except that if he was in a state of major ritual impurity (junub), then he would not recite the Qur'an.
