Hadith 795
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ أَسْلَمَ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : تَبِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَوْمًا وَهُوَ رَاكِبٌ ، فَوَضَعْتُ يَدِي عَلَى يَدِهِ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَقْرِئْنِي مِنْ سُورَةِ هُودٍ ، وَمِنْ سُورَةِ يُوسُفَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّكَ لَنْ تَقْرَأَ شَيْئًا أَبْلَغَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ سورة الفلق آية 1 " .
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once I was behind the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He was riding at that time and I placed my hand on his blessed hand. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Teach me to recite Surah Hud and Surah Yusuf. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: You will not learn to recite anything that is more eloquent before Allah Almighty than Surah Al-Falaq (or that holds a higher rank).
