Chapter on Recitation of the Quran – Explaining that reciting the last verses of Al-Baqarah for three nights protects the household from Satan
Hadith 782
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَشْعَثُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجَرْمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلابَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الآيَتَانِ خُتِمَ بِهِمَا سُورَةُ الْبَقَرَةِ لا تُقْرَآنِ فِي دَارٍ ثَلاثَ لَيَالٍ ، فَيَقْرَبُهَا شَيْطَانٌ " .
Sayyiduna Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Those two verses, where Surah Al-Baqarah ends, whichever house they are recited in for three days, Satan will not come near it."
