Hadith 774
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was traveling. He dismounted from his ride, and one of his companions went behind him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned his attention to him and said: "Shall I not tell you about the most excellent part of the Qur'an?" The narrator states: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited before him: "Alhamdulillahi Rabbil 'Alamin." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "Shall I not tell you about the most excellent part of the Qur'an," means: (its recitation) is best for you. It does not mean that one part of the Qur'an is superior to another, because it is impossible for there to be preference (tafadul) in the speech of Allah Almighty (i.e., for one part to be given superiority over another).
