Hadith 761
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الصُّوفِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا يَقُولُ أَحَدُكُمْ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ هُوَ نَسِيَ ، وَلَكِنَّهُ نُسِّيَ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No person should say: I have forgotten such-and-such verse. He does not forget it, rather that verse is made to be forgotten by him."
