Chapter on Recitation of the Quran – On Allah listening to the one described more than a master listens to his singing slave-girl
Hadith 754
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُهَاجِرِ ، عَنْ مَيْسَرَةَ مَوْلَى فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَلَّهُ أَشَدُّ أَذَنَا إِلَى الرَّجُلِ الْحَسَنِ الصَّوْتِ بِالْقُرْآنِ ، مِنْ صَاحِبِ الْقَيْنَةِ إِلَى قَيْنَتِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As eagerly as a person listens to the singing of a slave girl, Allah Almighty listens with even greater pleasure to the recitation of the Qur'an by a person with a beautiful voice."
