Hadith 731
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقَطَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أُرْسِلُ نَاقَتِي وَأَتَوَكَّلُ ؟ قَالَ : " اعْقِلْهَا وَتَوَكَّلْ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : يَعْقُوبُ هَذَا هُوَ يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ الضَّمْرِيُّ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْحِجَازِ مَشْهُورٌ مَأْمُونٌ .
Ja'far bin Amr bin Umayyah narrates from his father: A man asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), "Should I untie my camel and then place my trust in Allah?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "Tie it and then place your trust in Allah."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) This narrator named Ya'qub is Ya'qub bin Amr bin Abdullah bin Amr bin Umayyah Zumri. He belonged to the people of Hijaz. He is well-known and trustworthy.
