Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lead the people in prayer, some people would fall down during the prayer due to the severity of hunger; these were the people of Suffa, to the extent that the Bedouins used to say: "These people are mad." When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) completed the prayer, he said: "If you people knew what reward and recompense you have in the presence of Allah Almighty, then you would wish that your hunger and starvation be increased." Sayyiduna Fadala (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On that day, I was also with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
