Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came to a Bedouin who honored him. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said regarding him: Bring him to me. He came to your service, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked him: Ask for your need. He said: I need a she-camel on which we can ride and some goats whose milk my family can milk. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Have you people become so incapable that you cannot even be like the old women of Bani Israel? The people asked: O Messenger of Allah! What was the matter of the old women of Bani Israel? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: When Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) set out from Egypt with Bani Israel, they lost their way. Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) asked: What is the reason for this? Their scholars informed him: When Sayyiduna Yusuf (peace be upon him) was near death, he took a firm covenant from us by Allah that when we leave Egypt, we will take his body with us. Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) asked: Who knows the location of his grave? A person told him: An old woman from Bani Israel knows. Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) called for that woman. She came to him. Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) said: Guide me to the grave of Sayyiduna Yusuf (peace be upon him). The woman said: I will not do so until you give me my compensation. Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) asked: What is your compensation? She replied: That I be with you in Paradise. Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) did not like to say this to her, so Allah revealed to Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) that give her what she is asking for. Then the woman took them to a place from where water was gushing forth. The woman said: Stop this water. They stopped the water. The woman said: Now open it. They opened it, and from there the bones of Sayyiduna Yusuf (peace be upon him) appeared. When they returned to that land, the path became as clear as daylight.
