Hadith 697
698 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ زُهَيْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى الْأَدَمِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ قُعَيْسٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ فِي غَزَاةٍ كَانَ آخِرُ عَهْدِهِ بِفَاطِمَةَ، وَإِذَا قَدِمَ مِنْ غَزَاةٍ كَانَ أَوَّلُ عَهْدِهِ بِفَاطِمَةَ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا، فَإِنَّهُ خَرَجَ لِغَزْوِ تَبُوكَ وَمَعَهُ عَلِيٌّ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ، فَقَامَتْ فَاطِمَةُ فَبَسَطَتْ فِي بَيْتِهَا بِسَاطًا، وَعَلَّقَتْ عَلَى بَابِهَا سِتْرًا، وَصَبَغَتْ مِقْنَعَتَهَا بِزَعْفَرَانٍ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ أَبُوهَا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَرَأَى مَا أَحْدَثَتْ رَجَعَ، فَجَلَسَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَى بِلَالٍ فَقَالَتْ: يَا بِلَالُ اذْهَبْ إِلَى أَبِي، فَسَلْهُ مَا يَرُدُّهُ عَنْ بَابِي؟ فَأَتَاهُ فَسَأَلَهُ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنِّي رَأَيْتُهَا أَحْدَثَتْ، ثَمَّ شَيْئًا»، فَأَخْبَرَهَا، فَهَتَكَتِ السِّتْرَ، وَرَفَعَتِ الْبِسَاطَ، وَأَلْقَتْ مَا عَلَيْهَا، وَلَبِسَتْ أَطْمَارَهَا، [ص:471] فَأَتَاهُ بِلَالٌ فَأَخْبَرَهُ، فَأَتَاهُ فَاعْتَنَقَهَا وَقَالَ: «هَكَذَا كُونِي فِدَاكِ أَبِي وَأُمِّي».
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Whenever the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) set out to participate in a battle, he would meet Lady Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) last, and whenever he returned from a battle, he would meet Lady Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) first. When he set out to participate in the Battle of Tabuk, Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was also with him. Lady Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) stood up. She spread a mat in her house and hung a curtain at the door of the house. She had dyed this curtain with saffron. When her father arrived and saw what Lady Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) had done, he turned back and sat in the mosque. Lady Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) sent a message to Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: O Bilal! Go to my father and ask him why he turned back from my door. Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) presented himself before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and inquired about this matter. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I saw that she had done something new there. Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) informed Lady Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) about this, so she took down the curtain, removed the mat, put the things that were on it aside, and put on old clothes herself. Then Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) presented himself before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him about this matter. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) then came to her. He embraced her (Lady Fatimah, may Allah be pleased with her) and said: Remain like this; may my parents be sacrificed for you.
