Hadith 682
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَوْنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمَّارٍ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا الْفُضَيْلُ بْنُ غَزْوَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ سَبْعِينَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الصُّفَّةِ ، مَا عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْ رِدَاءٌ إِلا إِزَارٌ ، أَوْ كِسَاءٌ ، مُتَوَشِّحًا بِهِ قَدْ عَقَدَهُ خَلْفَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I saw seventy companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the Suffah. None of them had a cloak; they only had a small lower garment or a single sheet which they would wrap around themselves as a mantle and tie it behind their backs.
