Chapter on Fear and Piety – Clarification that one who prays at night and is alone with worship should have fear prevail
Hadith 665
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا حَوْثَرَةُ بْنُ أَشْرَسَ الْعَدَوِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " دَخَلْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَسْجِدَ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي ، وَبِصَدْرِهِ أَزِيزٌ كَأَزِيزِ الْمِرْجَلِ " .
Mutarrif bin Abdullah narrates from his father: I presented myself in the mosque before the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). At that time, he was standing and performing prayer, and a sound was coming from his chest like the sound of a boiling pot.
