Sayyiduna Iyad bin Himar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) saying this during a sermon: “Indeed, Allah Almighty has commanded me to convey to you the things He has taught me and which you are unaware of. Today, at this place, I will teach you those things.” (Allah Almighty says:) Every thing that I have given to My servant as a gift is lawful, and I have created all My servants as Muslims. Then the devils come to them and lead them astray regarding their religion, and declare unlawful for them those things which I have made lawful for them, and command them to associate partners with Me, though I have not sent down any strong proof regarding this. (The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, says: Allah Almighty looked towards the people of the earth and declared His anger upon all the Arabs and non-Arabs,) except for the remnants among the People of the Book; He did not express anger towards them. Then Allah Almighty says: O Muhammad! I have sent you so that I may test you and test people through you, and I have revealed to you a Book which water cannot wash away (i.e., it will never be erased); the awake and the sleeping will recite it. (The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, says:) Allah Almighty has commanded me to inform the Quraysh of this. I said: In that case, they will crush my head and grind me. Then Allah Almighty said: You should drive them out as they drove you out, and fight them as they fought you, and spend (in the way of Allah), you will be provided for, and send a force, We will send five times as many as that, and whoever obeys you, join with him in fighting against the one who disobeys you. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: The people of Paradise are of three types: a just, truthful, and guided leader; a person who is kind, soft-hearted, and gentle towards every close relative and every Muslim; and a person who is chaste, poor, and truthful. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: The people of Hell are of five types: a tyrant whose greed is not hidden, even if it is very subtle; a person who deceives you morning and evening regarding your wife and wealth; a weak person who is under your control, they do not seek family or wealth. A man asked him: O Abu Abdullah! Will these people be from the Mawali or from the Arabs? He replied: They will be from the followers. This will be for the one who commits adultery as a sin in the sanctity of another (i.e., he will not marry), and “shanzir” means one who commits indecency. Then the narrator also mentioned miserliness and lying.
